When should I schedule my senior session?

Summer and early fall are usually the most popular times for senior portraits.

Scheduling during the summer offers several advantages:

  • More flexibility with dates and locations

  • Beautiful evening light

  • Plenty of time to order announcements and prints

  • Less stress during the busy senior year

Even though graduation feels far away, many families begin planning senior portraits before school even starts

What should I wear?

Choosing outfits is one of the biggest decisions for a senior session. I recommend bringing a variety of looks that reflect your senior's personality, such as:

  • A casual everyday outfit

  • Something a little dressier

  • A letterman jacket or school spirit wear

  • Sports uniform or clothing related to a favorite hobby (optional)

  • Cap and gown if you'd like graduation portraits

After booking, every client receives my Senior Style Guide with tips on choosing outfits, coordinating colors, accessories, and preparing for their session so they feel confident and relaxed.

How long does a senior portrait session take?

My Senior Story Sessions are completely customized. Most sessions last between 90 minutes and 2 hours, allowing time for multiple outfits and locations while keeping the experience relaxed and fun.

Why do a custom senior portrait session if the school already takes a yearbook photo?

A yearbook portrait serves an important purpose, but it's usually one formal image taken to meet the school's requirements.

A custom senior portrait session is designed to celebrate who your senior is at this moment in life.
