When are yearbook portraits taken?

Poway High School seniors are typically photographed for the yearbook during the summer before senior year and into the early fall. It's important to watch for information from the school and the contracted photography studio, as appointments and deadlines are set well before graduation. Missing the deadline may affect whether your portrait appears in the yearbook.

Does the school require a specific photographer?

At the time of writing, Poway High School uses Keane Studios for official yearbook portraits. Schools occasionally change vendors, so always verify the current information through Poway High School or the school's senior information page.

The portrait taken by the school's contracted photographer is specifically for yearbook use and must follow the school's guidelines.

Can I still hire my own senior photographer?

Absolutely.

Many families choose to schedule a custom senior portrait session in addition to the required yearbook photo.

A personalized senior session gives your student the opportunity to choose meaningful locations, wear multiple outfits, include sports, hobbies or musical instruments, and create images that truly reflect their personality.

When should I schedule my senior session?

Even though graduation feels far away, many families begin planning senior portraits before school even starts

What should I wear?

Choosing outfits is one of the biggest decisions for a senior session. I recommend bringing a variety of looks that reflect your senior's personality, such as:

• A casual everyday outfit

• Something a little dressier

• A letterman jacket or school spirit wear

• Sports uniform or clothing related to a favorite hobby (optional)

• Cap and gown if you'd like graduation portraits

How long does a senior portrait session take?

My Senior Story Sessions are completely customized. Most sessions last between 90 minutes and 2 hours, allowing time for multiple outfits and locations while keeping the experience relaxed and fun.

A yearbook portrait serves an important purpose, but it's usually one formal image taken to meet the school's requirements.
